Got a spare $20? We have spent around $3,000 putting together the kits for the different regionals. Luckily we have some wonderful sponsors. Yet, we could use your help as well. One sponsor WePay.com has setup an account for free to help us out. Here is how it works go to this link: https://www.wepay.com/public/donate/394, it will ask if you want to contribute to UsFirstGirls. You can donate by credit card, or by bank account if you register for the site (they are fully certified, secure and PCI compliant). If you create an account after donating, you will be able to log back in and see everything happening in that account - both money coming in and money going out, so you can see how donations are being used.
Another one of our sponsors Technology Garden has made a challenge. It will mach the first $1,000 we raise on WePay. So if just 50 team help out with $20 each, we will have raised $2,000!
Two quick notes. First there is absolutely no pressure for this! But, it would be awesome to find out that cross team micro fundraising can work as USFirstGirls moves forward. Second if you have some opinions about this, positive or negative please share them on this forum. http://www.usfirstgirls.org/forum/topic/14
4: Don't forget to bring your USFirstGirls purple pride to the regional! Two ways to do that are:
A - make buttons, here is the link to a PDF template to make them http://www.usfirstgirls.org/media/Button%20Page.pdf B - The regional kits will have an average of 4 bandanas per team, if you want more you can order your own. Here is the site we used, in quantity the were only 35cents each http://www.tansclub.com/socobapa6.html
5: If you happen to be working on Dean's homework, we have made a web site to help out. Turns out the FIRST web site can be a little difficult for a non FIRSTy to figure out. Making it hard to invite people. So we created http://www.firstregionals.com. It has all the regional events on a google map. Just enter your zip code and it will help you find the regional closest to you. Feel free to send out the link, or to link to it from you web site.
6 .Early next week we should have some USFirstGirls "homework" Helping get SWE members to regional events and more familiar with FIRST. Look for the email next week.
Good luck to every one in the last few days of build season.
Becky and Frank
